State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut and a team led by Mr. Chen Hai, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar, met at the office of the Ministry of Home Affairs at 10:00 am on March 23 in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the meeting, they discussed and opened exchange of views on the issue of law enforcement and security cooperation between China and Myanmar, issues related to the borders of the two countries, the issue of cooperation between two police forces and the issues that will continue to be cooperated between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Major General Toe Yi and Permanent Secretary U Khaing Tun Oo.
Similarly, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Mr. Chan Hai met at 11:30 am on March 23 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on regional and international cooperation issues including the Global Civilization Initiative, which was first proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the successful results obtained from the Chinese Political Consultative Conference and the 14th Chinese National People's Congress, continued cooperation to further promote peace and stability in the Myanmar-China border region, China’s efforts to provide positive assistance for Myanmar's development and the successful resettlement of refugees from Rakhine State, according to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
